ON TIMING:

I spent a good portion of the summer looking for other jobs. And it's a difficult thing, considering that I literally live where I work (my current commute is about 150 feet down the hall). Trying to find the right "fit" isn't easy. I believe there should be a "click" when I am at the right place - that I should feel confident that I am at the "right" place. And so, as I considered different options, I was at kind of a loss as to what I should do.

For no reason, one night, I decided to sort out the desk drawers in my apartment. You know, clean out old pay stubs, look for a backup Windows CD for a computer I gave to my brother. That kind of stuff. I was distracted by a pile of greeting cards. These cards had been given to me by people at my previous school, and it was nice to read them. A nice reminder of friends who I may not get to see as much as I used to.

But then I opened one and it contained a Bible verse - "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way, walk in it.'" (Isaiah 30:21, NIV)

Well, the voice seemed to be saying that I needed to stick around here for a little while longer. So I have.
