ON SNOW
As I kid - I loved it. Despite the inevitable "whitewashing" from my brother, snow was a real highlight of the year for me. We would have snowball fights around the house, our parents would yell at us for getting too close to the street (this wasn't our fault. The combination of a shoveled driveway and the plowed street meant giant piles of snow right at the street - what better place to have a snow fort?). We could come in and put our gloves on glass Pepsi bottles in front of the kerosene heater so the gloves would dry more quickly.
As an adult - significantly less so. Driving in snow is more trouble than it's worth. And even though my university is closed today, I am considered "essential personnel" and have to work. I probably won't be sledding, or making snow angels, or throwing snowballs at anyone.
My challenge to you (and myself) today is to make snow fun again. Don't worry that it will probably cancel an improv show (or, at the very least, your role in the improv show). Don't think about how it messes up your plans to have "Friend Christmas" tonight. Just go out and roll around for a while; and maybe things will work out after all...
