ON TECHNOLOGY:
I was watching a comedian last night, and he said: "We live in an amazing world. And it is wasted on the crappiest generation of whiny kids." He went on to discuss our complaints about cell phones - even though we are carrying portable devices that shoot signals into space, yet we're upset that it doesn't work in a tunnel. That flying is often a source for complaints, yet the journey from New York to LA is five hours, and used to take "thirty years. People would die along the way."
I think I'm guilty of taking technology for granted. Earlier this week, Xbox Live was down for a day, and I remember being kind of upset about it. But twenty-five years ago, I was so psyched to play "Keystone Kapers" for my Atari 2600...now I'm upset when I can't drum along with actual licensed high-quality popular music while also chatting with someone else. How spoiled am I?
Answer: Very spoiled.
